We join with others all across the nation to celebrate Public Schools Week! Our schools, staff, families, community, and Board of Education all work together to benefit our students. We've come a long way since the establishment of the first public school in what would become the United States - the Boston Latin School in 1635 (still operating today, in a different building). #PSW23 #HornetPride

Yesterday, our fifth graders went to the Midland Center of the Arts to experience "Kate the Chemist." It was an amazing day of learning and celebrating women in STEM! #HornetNation

On Tuesday, our French learners traveled to Mt. Pleasant to join other high school language learners for a Mardi Gras celebration! Practicing the language, especially with new people, is key to learning.

By now, you have likely heard about the events that unfolded overnight on Michigan State's East Lansing campus.
As you, our students, and those around our state grapple with such a senseless act of violence over the course of today and the days to come, you may find this resource from the National Association of School Psychologists helpful: https://www.nasponline.org/resources-and-publications/resources-and-podcasts/school-safety-and-crisis/school-violence-resources/talking-to-children-about-violence-tips-for-parents-and-teachers.
If you know a staff member, student, family, or alumni who has been personally impacted, please let us know. We will do everything we can to support them.

Our hearts are breaking for those impacted by the tragic event at MSU. Hornet Nation stands ready to support our families, staff, students, and alumni as needed.

We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to our middle school cheer team!! They took 1st place in their panel today and 3rd overall. #HornetPride

Today was a great day of adult learning and collaboration in #HornetNation! Deep thinking around "Most Likely to Succeed," reflective K-12 vertical group dialogues, and many opportunities to share our "why" around supporting learners' future stories.
