Harrison Community Schools Student Awarded with Academic Honors from College Board
National Recognition Programs

Harrison High School student excelled in College Board assessments and schoolwork to earn award, which colleges use to identify academically competitive underrepresented students
Harrison, Michigan – One Harrison High School student has earned academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them meaningfully connect to colleges and stand out during the admissions process. Colleges and scholarship programs identify students awarded Rural/Small Town Recognition through College Board’s Student Search Service; our student is:

Ethan Wallace

“We’re thrilled and proud that Ethan has earned this recognition,” said Harrison Superintendent Judy Walton. “These programs help students from underrepresented backgrounds stand out to colleges during the admissions process.”

Eligible students have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, earn PSAT/NMSQT® or PSAT™ 10 assessment scores that are within the top 10% of test takers in each state for each award program or earn a score of 3 or higher on 2 or more AP® Exams, and attend school in a rural area or small town, or identify as African American or Black, Hispanic or Latino, or Indigenous or Native.

“It’s becoming increasingly hard for students to be ‘seen’ during the college recruitment process. We’re exceptionally proud of the National Recognition Programs for celebrating students who are at times overlooked but have shown their outstanding academic abilities. This is a benefit not only for students but also for colleges and universities committed to recruiting diverse and talented students, said Tarlin Ray, senior vice president of BigFuture.
