Volunteers (age 14 and up), with the ability to lift and carry food multiple times to load food into vehicles, are needed from 9:00 a.m. until early afternoon. For more information, please send an email to Clarecofood@gmail.com. Community service credits are available.

Our Hornets receive one free breakfast and one free lunch per day at school without worrying about qualifying based on income. While that is exciting, we still need everyone to complete and return the "Education Benefits Form". The eligibility determinations from the submitted forms are used for much more than meals -- state at-risk funding calculations, local distribution of Title I funding, and waiving testing fees. If you have already returned your form, thank you! If you have not done so yet, please try to do it next week.

Reminder regarding the School Based Health Center: Consents must be updated every school year. If you want your child/student to be able to access the health clinic, please complete the updated consent as the ones from last year will expire on 8/31. Students who have not submitted the consent for this school year will not be able to use the clinic until a new consent is received. Thank you to those who have already completed and submitted the consent for the new school year.

Another reminder for bus riders this year: if you are a new enrollee, a new bus rider, or your address has changed since last year's route, please print and fill out the attached form and either fax it to 989.539.7491 or drop it off at your school office. Drivers are in the process of calling families to verify locations and pick up/drop off times. If you have not heard from a driver by Wednesday, August 16, please call the bus garage at (989) 539-7082. If you are a Larson family, there will be a bus and driver at the open house for exploration of the bus and/or questions for the driver. https://5il.co/207gx

As we prepare to welcome our students back on August 21, we have a few more updates for you: -- Grade-level teacher assignments for Larson will be shared as soon as possible. We are awaiting a Skyward "roll-up" with 2023-2024 information, and we do not control that timing. Once that does occur, emails will be sent to all those for whom we have an email address, and letters will be printed and mailed for all students. We believe you may also be able to see the assignment in Skyward itself once the system is updated. We cannot post lists due to federal and state privacy laws. -- Class schedules for grades 6-12 should be available at August 16 open houses; again, printing those are dependent on the Skyward roll-up. -- Any specific school supply lists will be posted on each school's FaceBook page and/or shared at open house. As always, we will supply any item a student does not possess. Keep checking this space for additional updates.

Harrison 2023 graduate Malea Gardner played in the MHSSCA All Star Game on Wednesday, July 19th. She had a single in the game. She is the third Hornet to play in this all star game (Hillary Brewer in 2012 and Allison Lipovsky in 2015). Way to represent Hornet Nation Malea!!

Please be advised that we are updating our telephone server today. This may cause some random but brief outages throughout the day. Connected calls may drop and incoming/outgoing calls will fail. Thank you for your patience.
