Schools of Choice Applications for 2020-2021 School Year

Harrison Community Schools 2020-2021 School Year HCS Families,

As we close the 2019-20 school year many unknowns remain for the upcoming 2020-2021 year.

Currently, it's unclear because we are awaiting the direction and requirements from the state of
Michigan and Department of Education. As a public school district that derives the majority of its
operating funding from the state, we are bound by their direction. Not knowing the parameters,
staff remain hard at work trying to craft multiple scenarios, preparing for whatever direction the
state sends us.

Our primary focus remains the health and safety of our students and educating them in the most
robust manner possible. Today we are releasing a short survey to help us with our planning to
guide us in making decisions on possible educational scenarios moving forward.

It is our hope to have all kids back in school on August 24th. However, this may need to be
modified with other options. Your input from this survey is extremely important in helping guide
our planning. I would like to thank you for taking the time to complete it.
