     Fifteen HHS students participated at the regional project woodworking competition sponsored by the Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society.

Four students placed 1st in the category and grade level:

  • Andrew Woodworth with his raised panel trunk;

  • Devon Eaton with his coffee table

  • RJ McDonald with his candle stand table

  • Parker Thompson with his mantle clock

Two students placed 2nd in their category and grade level:

  • David Coltson with his coffee table

  • Brandon Brower with his book shelf.

Three students brought home 3rd places:

  •  James Shepherd with his end table

  • William Yager with his end table

  • Joe Aluia with a guilt rack.

     Janessa Hawkins placed 4th with her mangle clock. Autumn Smith and Dustin Krchmar both placed 6th with the mirror frames they built.

Three students received honorable mentions:

  • Mike Aldrich for his spinning top,

  • Marissa Swartz with her mancala board

  • Jasmine Haskin with her mantle clock.

     Ten of the fifteen students that participated placed in the top four, which qualifies them to continue on to the state competition in Lansing May 8, 9 and 10.  Congratulations and good luck!
