YOUR SCHOOL MATTERS

 Harrison Community Schools Achieves District Wide Adequate Yearly Progress

We are happy to report that the State of Michigan has declared that Harrison Community Schools have again achieved Adequate Yearly Progress across the district. Our personnel at all levels continue to make good on our promise of increased student achievement for the students of Harrison. It is our hope that our focus on excellence will move the district ever closer to greatness. We know, as Jim Collins has reported, that good is the enemy of great and we have no intention of becoming complacent. In the final measure, results speak for themselves.

As the holidays approach, please accept the best wishes of the Board of Education and all at Harrison Community Schools for a safe and joyous Holiday Season!

As a reminder, we have again included the goals adopted by the Harrison Community Schools Board of Education to focus the efforts of the district.
GOALS:

  1. Provide leadership and guidance in curriculum development and implementation with the ultimate goal of increased standardized test scores and Adequate Yearly Progress for all buildings. (Increased Student Achievement).

  2. Find innovative and cost effective means to serve the special need student.

  3. The district will promote a positive culture through collaboration, communication, and trust to support and build the opportunities for shared responsibilities.

  4. The district will find innovative and cost effective means to provide time needed for planning, professional learning communities, and district initiatives.

  5. Market and promote our schools within our own district and in the surrounding area while celebrating accomplishments within our community.

  6. The board, administration, and staff will develop and increase trust and communication.
