21 teams Participated in the Competitive Cheer Coaches Association of Michigan’s Annual Scholarship Invitational.
Five locations were chose to host the competition this year!

• Harrison High School • Comstock Park High School • Otsego High School • Wyandotte Roosevelt High School • Stoney Creek High

Varsity teams competed in the traditional format- performing rounds 1, 2, and 3. Sub-Varsity teams may participate if they have a Varsity team that participated. Participating varsity teams sending JV, Freshman, or Middle School teams from their program to perform was scored on one round of their choice. This is for learning purposes only and is not a competition for the sub-varsity teams. Sub-Varsity team’s will performed before the Varsity competition.

Over 300 spectators, over 250 cheerleaders and coaches and many volunteers showed up to begin the 2008-09 Competitive cheer season.

The following Varsity Teams competed for scores. No awards or places we given out due to ALL PROCEEDS from the registrations, gate and t-shirts went to the CCCAM Scholarship fund. Teams were able to receive comments and suggestions from the Judges.

CCCAM is thrilled to be able to offer scholarships to our Competitive Cheer athletes each year! Over $26,000 was awarded in 2008. One of the prerequisites for eligibility is participation in the annual Scholarship Invitational. Your athletes work hard to maintain high academic standards-show them you appreciate their achievements.

Thank you, to all who participated in this great event. Harrison Varsity started with a great start this year. We have 19 girls on the HHS Varsity team this year. In the past Harrison has been known for their stunting alone BUT finally this year we can call us a stunting and tumbling team! Harrison Varsity and JV teams will compete January 6, 2009 in Harrison at 6:00 pm. Be sure to stop by and cheer-on the Cheerleaders!
