H.C.S. HIGH SCHOOL
SPANISH I, II,
III,
and Mexico
Knowledge of a foreign language is becoming increasingly important in today's
world. There is a tremendous range of language related job opportunities, wider
media coverage of foreign politics and events, and a relative ease of travel to
foreign cultures. Many people in the United States speak English only as a
second language, therefore creating a need for foreign language speakers in
social agencies, schools, and businesses. To know a foreign language is to have
a better understanding of an individual's ideas and attitudes, which is
necessary for good relations between cultures.
The study of a foreign language is highly recommended for college bound
students. It is imperative that students of Spanish have a strong background in
English grammar. Many grammatical comparisons will be made between English and
Spanish, and it will be necessary to have a prior understanding of the English
grammatical structures.
The 2nd Trimester of a year course cannot be taken without passing the
1st Trimester.
and the 3rd Trimester course cannot be taken without
passing the 2nd Trimester.
