Please make sure your child reads to you every day.  Some students are not remembering to take B books back and forth each day.

We are learning sight words.  Some words we use include . . .

a  the  this   he  she  is  it  you  I  to  my  me  by  be and

Your child should have a pouch with egg shaped words to practice.

We are practicing two letter words, putting two sounds together to make words like . . . an  as  at  be  by  do  go  he  if  in  is  it  my  no  of  on  or  so  to  up  we

and we are adding a letter to the beginning of two letters to make word families and rhyming words.   an, man, can, Dan, ran...

Parents that wish to volunteer in the classroom may do so on Friday afternoons from 2:00-3:00.  If you have ideas for simple arts and craft projects or activities please let me know.  It may be possible to schedule parents to help with computers and math games from 11:30- 12:40 if this is better for you.
