What's Going On In Class

Spelling Carousel Activity- Last week our class did a spelling carousel activity on contractions. Students rotated to different centers where they recorded a variety of contractions. In the picture above students wrote down contractions that use shall or will. You'll have to figure out what Carea was thinking.

They will also read a mystery book from the Woodlands Mysteries series. We will continue to listen to Bud, Not Buddy at the listening center.

Writing- This week, will also continue to work on multi-syllabel words. We will also continue writing a mystery story and complete word ladders. During writing workshop, we will work on persuasive writing. As always students will write in their reflection journal and work on other strategies that will help us become better writers.

Community Collaboration- All students are working on either comprehension, fluency or phonics. This is everyday from 2:40-3:10. Please if possible, do not pick your child up before this time. This time is very important to your child's success in reading and writing. Be sure to ask your child what they are learning about daily.
