Due to the 11 snow days, Harrison Community Schools has extended their school day for the elementary buildings
Start time for the elementary buildings only will be 8:05 a.m. and end time will be 3:27 p.m.

Friday, May 23rd will be a day off for students and staff.

Tuesday, May 27th will be a full day of school.

Wednesday, May 28th will be a half day for students and a full day for staff. This will be the last day of school for the 2007-2008 school year.

2007 - 2008 Progress Reports


We will be unable to mail out five-week Progress Reports after the first
mailing in October due to the expense.  Progress Reports will be sent home with
your child on the following dates:

Tuesday, January 15th for 2nd Trimester

Tuesday, April 22nd for 3rd Trimester

We hope this will make you aware so that you will know when
to expect these progress reports from your child.

EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY
For Class of 2008

Attention Seniors: If you miss seven or more days in any class in which you qualified for an exam exemption, you must now take the exam to pass the class due to the attendance policy.

Requirements
     1.  No discipline reports on file from the third trimester.
     2.  No more than two tardies during the third trimester, all classes combined.
     3.  No more than three absences during the third trimester.
     4.  Must maintain a B- average in each course for an exemption to be sought.

The following excused absences will be exceptions to requirement #3:
     A.  Medical appointments with an original appointment verification note from the health care provider.
     B.  Funeral and wake for member of the immediate family.
     C.  Official college visitations with verification from the college.
     D.  Official court appointments with verification.

Requirements #1 and #2 above must be met to be considered for an exemption in any class.

Requirements #3 and #4 must be met for each class for which an exemption is sought.

Students will need to have teachers sign for exam they are exempting and present to office in order to sign out for each exempted exam. Parent permission is also required. If you are exempting out of 6th and 7th hour, please turn into office before leaving Thursday to be excused for Friday.

 

7th ABSENCE APPEALS

 Parents and High School Students:

If you need to appeal a passing grade due the new Attendance Policy (7 or more absences in a class) you may pick up an Appeals Form in the High School office or click HERE for the form.

Appeal Dates are scheduled for:

Appeals will be held on March 26 and 27 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. See Mr. Fimbinger if you have any questions. Please note that attendance appeals will be held in the High School Conference room. You may pick up an attendance appeal form in the office or click HERE for the form..
