The Character Counts theme for May is character.

The Character Counts quote for today -- "What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson, 19th-century American essayist and poet

Last week on Monday a note was found in the girls restroom (by the gym) stating that there was a bomb in the building. The building was quickly checked by school staff members. Yesterday, probably during 7th hour, the following words were written in pencil in the last stall of the girls restroom by the kitchen, "this schools gonna blow on 5-7-08, 2:16." There will be sizeable cash rewards for information leading to the positive identification and prosecution of the person or persons who committed these crimes.

Mrs. Cuvelier will be here today during both lunches to distribute prom pictures.

Senior class officers meeting today during 1st Academic Seminar.

There will be a brief student council meeting today during second lunch in Mr. Smith's area. Be there so the yearbook staff can take your picture.

Students scheduled for after school detention today, in Mrs. Falsetta's area from 3:50 to 4:50 p.m. are: Terry Bristol, Josh Mathews, Josh Kincaid, Kylie Lutz, Josh Vida, Angel Miske, Cody Sulla, Tiffany Allen and Breanna Eagle.

Community band concert tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the High School gym. Come and hear Katie See, Alaura Soto, Aubrey Kemp and Mr. Hellberg perform with community members from all over Mid Michigan.

Due to trash being left and food being spilled, all food must be eaten while you are seated at the cafeteria tables. This includes breakfast and both lunch periods.

Anyone who was involved with the Arts night, please pick up your art projects from Mr. Humphres.

Seniors exempt from ALL exams may leave after third hour on Friday.

Anyone interested in a slide show DVD of the after prom party should order their copy in the counseling office. The cost is $5.00.

At the end of the school day students should exit the high school only through the front doors of the building from the cafeteria. You should NOT be leaving through the A or B wing doors or the science wing doors.

Students: Our custodians do not need us to put our chairs on the desk tops at the end of the day simply pushing them in neatly will be sufficient. Consequently, there is absolutely no reason that anyone should ever be out of their seat before the final bell at the end of 7th hour or any other class period, including academic seminar.

Important end of the school year dates for the Media Center: Underclassmen - the last day to check out materials is May 12 with all materials due back May 16. The last day the Media Center will be open is May 19. Additionally, the Media Center will be closed on May 14 from 10:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. for a Middle School function.

Students: You need to review your handbook regarding student dress. Clothing must always be modest and appropriate for school. Tops which are too revealing or low cut are not allowed. Shirts with the sleeves ripped out or cut so low under the arms as to reveal the sides are not allowed. Rips, tears, or holes in clothing above the knees are not allowed. Expect to be asked to change or sent home if you fail to obey the dress policies. If you have already been warned or blatantly disregard the policies, expect to receive a discipline referral.

Students: Thursday, May 15, will be the last day to order a 2007-08 yearbook. The cost is $50.00. See Ms. Canute.

William Usher, a 2007 HHS graduate, will be deploying to Iraq in about two months. He would like his friends at HHS to have his e-mail address and would love to hear from them at terror_in_you@yahoo.com.
